The Very Excellent Mr Dundee

The movie The Very Excellent Mr Dundee is “somewhat” the fourth film in the Crocodile Dundee big screen franchise from Paramount Pictures.

The first in the series, Crocodile Dundee, arrived in theaters in September 1986 and took in over $175 million in U.S. theaters alone, making it one of the most successful movies of the 1980s. Adjusted for inflation, that $175 million would be over $450 million, which makes it one of the Top 100 grossing movies of all time.

In the movie The Very Excellent Mr Dundee Paul Hogan plays himself and is on the brink of receiving a Knighthood for services to comedy. ‘Don’t do anything to mess this up’, his manager tells him, according to the plot line. However, despite all his best efforts, the next six weeks sees his name and reputation destroyed.
