Surprisingly, the director of the box office catastrophe, Late Night, Nisha Ganatra, was hired to direct this film.
Originally scheduled for release on May 8, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. It bypassed theaters and received a straight to Video on Demand release on May 29, 2020.
