All that anyone needs to know is that Eddie Murphy is back for this new Beverly Hills Cop movie, Beverly Hills Cop 4.
The first three Beverly Hills Cop films were released in 1984, 1987 and 1994, respectively. The original film was the highest grossing movie at the 1984 box office, taking in over $234 million. (In 2020 dollars, that would be over $600 million).
Update May 2015 – Paramount Pictures pulled Beverly Hills Cop from the 2016 release schedule. Eddie Murphy stated that the script he read was unfilmable.
Update November 2019 – Paramount has sold the rights to this remake to Netflix.
