The movie All the Money In The World follows the kidnapping of 16-year-old John Paul Getty III (Charlie Plummer) and the desperate attempt by his devoted mother Gail (Michelle Williams) to convince his billionaire grandfather (Christopher Plummer) to pay the ransom. When Getty Sr. refuses, Gail attempts to sway him as her son’s captors become increasingly volatile and brutal. With her son’s life in the balance, Gail and Getty’s advisor (Mark Wahlberg) become unlikely allies in the race against time that ultimately reveals the true and lasting value of love over money.
Mark Wahlberg and Christopher Plummer costar, along with Michelle Williams. Ridley Scott directed All the Money In The World.
The poster featured below for the movie All The Money In The World is the original poster, when Kevin Spacey was still part of the project. Immediately after it was reported that he had molested Tony winning actor Anthony Rapp when Raap was 14, Spacey’s role and name were scrubbed from the film. Director Ridley Scott reshot all of Kevin Spacey’s scenes with his first choice for the role of John Paul Getty, Oscar winner Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music). While the role of John Paul Getty is a small one, it is an integral part of the movie. And since the studio was not interested in releasing the film with Spacey in it, Scott and the cast agreed to 10 days of literally last minute reshoots. (The film was reshot and edited, and new posters, with Christopher Plummer’s name were created, less than six weeks before its theatrical release).
