Luca Guadagnino (Oscar nominated director of Call Me By Your Name) directs the second remake of the movie Scarface. The original was released in 1932 and was directed by Howard Hawks. It features Paul Muni in the lead role. The 1983 version, directed by Brian DePalma, features Al Pacino in the lead role.
Ethan and Joel Coen, the Oscar winning directors and writers of No Country For Old Men and the movies Fargo, Raising Arizona, Blood Simple and O Brother Where Art Thou?, to name just a few, wrote one version of the 2022 remake of Scarface, which is set in Los Angeles.
The movie has been gestating for 10 years, so stay tuned for new casting news as Diego Luna will no longer be starring in the title role.
