Oscar winner Ridley Scott (Gladiator) directs The Last Duel, which is set in 14th century France and follows a man, Knight Jean de Carrouges, who goes to war and returns to discover his squire has raped his wife (Jodie Comer). No one will believe the woman, and the soldier appeals to King Charles VI and says he wants to fight a duel to the death to decide his former friend’s fate, becoming the last legally sanctioned duel in France.

Originally scheduled for release on December 25, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. Its new, tentative, release date is October 15, 2021.
