The film Jungle Cruise is based on Disneyland’s theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles.
Jungle Cruise stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, and Jack Whitehall. Jaume Collet-Serra is on board to direct the film.
Disney plans to develop the film as a franchise similar to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Originally scheduled for release on July 24, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. Its new, tentative, release date is July 30, 2021.
