Call Me By Your Name 2 is the sequel to the Oscar winning 2017 movie Call Me By Your Name.
The sequel is based on the second half of the book by Andre Aciman. The first film encompassed only the first half of the novel.
The sequel, and second part of the book, takes place a few years after the main characters, Elio (Timothée Chalamet) and Oliver (Armie Hammer), part ways in the mid 1980s. The two reunite in the United States five or six years later, in the early 90s.
The sequel will have a different tone than the original, according to director Luca Guadagnino, who talked to Wild About Movies about the sequel at the 2017 Napa Valley Film Festival, where Call Me By Your Name debuted. Audiences will “see a lot of the East Coast of America…They’re gonna go around the world”. Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer are signed on for the sequel.
