Wonder Woman 1984 arrives in theaters – and on HBO Max – two years after the original, which was one of the biggest movies of 2017 at the box office.
Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot, earned $412 million in the United States, alone, making it the third highest grossing movie of 2017, behind the live action Disney movies Beauty and the Beast, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Oscar winner Hans Zimmer (Rain Man, Gladiator, The Lion King, Interstellar, Dunkirk) composed the score for the movie.
Gal Gadot and Chris Pine return as the stars of this sequel and Patty Jenkins returns as the director.
Originally scheduled for release on June 5, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed. Its new, tentative, release date is October 2, 2020 TBD. The film has a confirmed release date of December 25, 2020. It opens in theaters and debuts on HBO Max the same day.
