The movie The New Mutants, the latest X-Men film, tells the story of the New Mutants, a team of mutant heroes comprised of the first graduates from Charles Xavier’s school.
The movie is set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held against their will for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.
Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) are among the new cast who play the New Mutants.
Josh Boone’s horror-tinged take on Marvel’s teen heroes was pushed back two years. The movie jumped from April 13, 2018 to Feb. 22, 2019 to August 2, 2019 to April 3, 2020. That is a full two years after its original scheduled release date.
Finally scheduled for release on April 3, 2020, the film was put on the shelf due to Wuhan coronavirus and all movie theaters in the world being closed.
The New Mutants earns the distinction of being the first film from a major movie studio to be released in theaters since the Wuhan virus rendered all movie theaters in the United States shuttered.
