The movie Maleficent 2, officially entitled Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, is a sequel to the 2014 film Maleficent about the Disney villainess. Angelina Jolie reprises her role as Maleficent, Elle Fanning reprises her role as Aurora, and Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Queen Ingrith.
The sequel picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora, and continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
The movie Maleficent was released on May 30, 2014 and took in $241,410,378 at the U.S. box office. Combined, worldwide box office totaled $758 million.
