The latest big screen version of Little Women, Little Women (2019), is directed by Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird). The film features Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalamet, Emma Stone, Florence Pugh and Saoirse Ronan.
Three previous versions have appeared in theaters, the first in 1933, another in 1949, and most recently the 1994 version starring Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, Kirsten Dunst, Christian Bale, Claire Danes, Samantha Mathis, Gabriel Byrne, Mary Wickes, Eric Stoltz, John Neville and Trini Alvarado.
The Little Women movies are all based on the Louisa May Alcott novel of the same name, which tells the story of the four March sisters sisters who live and grow in post-Civil War America.
