Doctor Sleep is a sequel to The Shining. The Doctor Sleep novel by Stephen King was released in 2013.

The film adaptation from Warner Bros. follows Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor), now an adult and battling alcoholism and who is dealing with the trauma of what happened to him as a child in the haunted Overlook hotel in Colorado.

The Shining, adapted and directed by Stanley Kubrick, was released in theaters in 1980 and features Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall in the lead roles.
