The best intentions often come back to haunt you. Tom Cruise returns for another chapter in the Mission Impossible franchise, Mission Impossible Fallout. Mission Impossible Fallout finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong.
Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.
In August 2017 the actor, who’s known for doing his own stunts, was injured in London when he jumped between buildings and slammed into a wall, leaving him limping. While Cruise was supposed to hit the wall, according to director Christopher McQuarrie, he hit at a slightly different angle on the fourth take and broke his ankle. Production went on hiatus while he recovered.
The first in the big screen series arrived in theaters in 1996 and was directed by Brian DePalma (The Untouchables).
Christopher McQuarrie returns to direct this latest installment in the Mission Impossible franchise. He also directed the fifth in the series.
John Woo directed the second film in the saga, while J.J. Abrams directed the third and Brad Bird directed the fourth.
