The third installment of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy is entitled Fifty Shades Freed. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan return in the lead roles.
Believing they have left behind shadowy figures from their past, newlyweds Christian and Ana fully embrace an inextricable connection and shared life of luxury. But just as she steps into her role as Mrs. Grey and he relaxes into an unfamiliar stability, new threats could jeopardize their happy ending before it even begins.
James Foley returns as director. He directed Fifty Shades Darker, the second in the series. Sam Taylor-Johnson directed the first in the franchise, Fifty Shades Of Grey.
The first Fifty Shades movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, earned $166 million at the U.S. box office when it was released in 2015. The second film in the franchise, Fifty Shades Darker, arrived in theaters in 2017 and took in $114 million at the box office.
Fifty Shades Freed is the final film in the franchise.
