Cocote is the story of Alberto, an evangelical gardener, who returns to his home town to attend the funeral of his father, killed by an influential man. In order to mourn his deceased father, he will be forced to participate in religious celebrations contrary to his will. Cocote explores the boundaries between fiction and reality; Transiting between the urban and rural landscape of the island. In the repetition of a small town life, Alberto confronts different gods and the idea of murder lurking as the only solution to restore some kind of order.
