Mick, and 11-year-old boy from the city, is sent to live on his grandfather’s cattle station. The young boy comes across a puppy one day while he’s tracking down some escaped chickens, and the two become best friends. Various craziness occurs at the cattle station, which is home to an eccentric bunch of Australian Outback characters and some unusual animals. A young woman is brought in from Perth to tutor Mick, and she brings with her some of the more modern ideas that will eventually change life for those living more traditional lives in the Outback.
