When Pablo Escobar met Mateo Moreno, Escobar was already established as a trucker in the Colombian black market. As a chemist working underground, Moreno could produce cocaine, and enlisted Escobar to help him traffic the new and popular drug. Enter Steve Murphy, an agent for the US Drug Enforcement Agency commissioned to put an end to the illegal flow of cocaine into the USA. Working with the Colombian government, Murphy and his partner try to find evidence against Escobar that will allow him to be extradited to the US. Finally captured and imprisoned, Escobar manages a narrow escape but finds himself nearly defenseless against the forces of the Columbian and American governments.
