The honest and charming coming-of-age comedy, Eighth Grade ,arrives on Digital and on Blu-Ray (plus Digital) and DVD from Lionsgate. Written and directed by Bo Burnham (The Big Sick, TV’s “Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous”) and produced by Scott Rudin (Lady Bird, Ex-Machina), the Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh film tells the story of thirteen-year-old Kayla’s last week of middle school. Elsie Fisher (Despicable Me franchise, Training Wheels) stars as “a new iconic teenage heroine for the ages” (Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post) alongside a strong performance by Josh Hamilton (TV’s “American Horror Story”, The Bourne Identity).
In the Eighth Grade DVD, thirteen-year-old Kayla endures the tidal wave of contemporary suburban adolescence as she makes her way through the last week of middle school — the end of her thus far disastrous eighth grade year — before she begins high school.
