Inspired by one of the longest and bloodiest real-life events in police history, Officer Mike Chandler (Nicolas Cage) is a cop who is ready for retirement. Chandler and his partner take a young civilian man as a ride-along when they happen upon a bank robbery in progress. Based on true events, the bank robbery becomes one of the longest and most violent in history. Chandler must protect his partner and find the young ride-along who is hiding from the robbers. Chandler must overcome great odds while he battles a heavily armed and trained group of robbers.
