The movie Wonder will try to eclipse the popularity of the 1985 movie Mask, starring Eric Stoltz and Cher, about the disfigured teen Rusty Dennis and his biker mom.
The movie Wonder tells the fictional story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to discover their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey unites them all and proves you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.
The movie Wonder is based on the novel of the same name.
Jacob Tremblay, the little boy in the movie Room, plays the main character in the movie Wonder, while Julia Roberts plays his mother. Stephen Chbosky, the director of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, directed Wonder.
