In a twisted social experiment, the movie The Belko Experiment tells the fictional story of 80 Americans who are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogotá, Colombia and ordered by an unknown voice coming from the company’s intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed.
James Gunn, writer and director of all of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, wrote the movie.
The movie premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2016 and was released in the United States on March 17, 2017, by Blumhouse Tilt and Orion Pictures.
The film received mixed reviews from critics and has grossed $11 million worldwide, against its $5 million budget.
