In the movie I Tonya, competitive ice skater Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie) rises among the ranks at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, but her future in the sport is thrown into doubt when her ex-husband intervenes.
I Tonya is directed by Craig Gillespie who is best known for directing the Walt Disney films The Finest Hours and Million Dollar Arm, as well s the remake of Fright Night.
Although a member of an amateur ice hockey league, Margot Robbie didn’t have that much skating experience before taking on the role of Tonya Harding.
I Tonya made its premiere at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
