In the movie The Founder, Micheal Keaton shoots for the Best Actor Oscar again.
Since he lost out to Eddie Redmayne in 2015, for his role in Birdman, chances are he will get the sympathy vote in 2017 for his role as Ray Kroc in The Founder. Especially since he wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar for his role in the 2016 Best Picture winner, Spotlight.
The Founder, from the director of The Blind Side and Saving Mr. Banks, chronicles how Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to steal the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.
