In the movie Regression a father (Ethan Hawke) is accused of a crime he has no memory of committing.
The film was released day and date in a handful of theaters in the United States and on Video On Demand. As expected, it bombed in theaters.
Studios do not release VOD information, but Regression received scathing reviews on IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, by both critics and audiences alike so, it is unlikely that the movie made much of a dent on VOD either.
Ethan Hawke seems to not be embarrassed to collect a check from starring in low budget, box office clunkers that are ridiculed by the press. Why? Because he also is able to star in movies like Boyhood, for which he received a 2015 Oscar nomination for his role in Boyhood. He was also nominated for Oscars for writing the movies Before Sunset and Before Midnight. His first Oscar nomination was for Best Supporting Actor in 2002 for the movie Training Day. (Denzel Washington won the 2002 Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Training Day).
