SPECTRE

SPECTRE Release Date: November 6, 2015

In the movie SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond movie to hit theaters, Daniel Craig returns as James Bond, with Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny), and Ben Whishaw (Q) returning to reprise their Skyfall roles as well.

In SPECTRE, a cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.

Sam Mendes returns to direct SPECTRE, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as 007 for the fourth time. SPECTRE is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, from a script by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade.

The name SPECTRE was featured in Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels and stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. It’s a fictional global criminal syndicate and terrorist organization, led by supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, and first appeared in the novel “Thunderball” and in the film “Dr. No” in 1962.

Skyfall, released in 2012, became the highest grossing James Bond movie of all time, with $304 million at the U.S. movie box office, but not the most popular James Bond movie at the box office.

Thunderball sold the most tickets and, adjusted for inflation, has an original theatrical gross of $602,140,000, twice as much as Skyfall.
