In the movie Rec 4 (official title [Rec 4] Apocalypse) Angela Vidal wakes up in a high-security quarantine facility, sole survivor and witness to the horrific events inside the building. But does she remember what happened to her? Is she carrying the virus? Distrust spreads through the isolated facility while new, even more deadly forms of evil spread even faster.
Originally scheduled for release in 2014, the studio pushed the release date back to the worst weekend of the year, the first of 2015.
The official title for Rec 4 is Rec 4 Apocalypse.
Rec, the first in the horrible series, was released in 2008 and told the story of a television reporter and cameraman who follow emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside with something terrifying. It was a direct-to-DVD movie.
Rec 2 arrived in 2010, straight to DVD and VOD.
Rec 3 was picked up by Magnet Releasing, the horror studio spinoff of Magnolia Pictures, which is owned by Mark Cuban. All of their (Magnet and Magnolia) films receive a VOD (Video On Demand) and limited theatrical release, day and date, thus making each Magnet/Magnolia picture ineligible for any Oscar nominations. The film Rec 3 earned an abysmal $9,000 (yes, nine thousand dollars) in movie theaters during its entire theatrical run in 2012.
Rec 4 is one of the biggest movie box office bombs of all time. The film earned less than $1000 (one thousand dollars) during its theatrical run in 2015.
