When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s mightiest heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. Avengers 2 is the sequel (which cost over $250,000,000 to produce) to the 2012 blockbuster that chronicles the continuing adventures of the team of super humans known as The Avengers.
The Avengers was released in 2012 and took in $623,357,910 at the U.S. box office. Factoring in inflated ticket prices, The Avengers is actually the 27th highest grossing movie of all time.
The Avengers 2 teaser trailer debuted October 22, 2014 and features an updated version of the song “I’ve Got No Strings” from the 1940 Walt Disney movie Pinocchio. Marvel can do that, now that they are owned by Disney.
