In this animated version of Tarzan, the U.S. release featuring the voice of D-lister from the Twlight movies, Kellan Lutz, as the voice of Tarzan, Tarzan and Jane Porter face a mercenary army dispatched by the evil CEO of Greystoke Energies, a man who took over the company from Tarzan’s parents, after they died in a plane crash.
This Tarzan was made and financed by Germany, not a Hollywood studio.
Tarzan, this version, received a very limited U.S. theatrical release (a handful of theaters in NYC and LA for one week) before disappearing, without even a DVD release scheduled.
The Walt Disney animated version of Tarzan in 1999, featuring the voice of Tony Goldwyn as Tarzan, actually was critically reviled but made over $171,000,000 at the U.S. movie box office, and nearly $500,000,000 worldwide.
