The sequel to Thor, which was released in movie theaters in 2011, is officially entitled Thor: The Dark World.
Thor battles an ancient race of Dark Elves led by the vengeful Malekith who threatens to plunge the universe back into darkness after the events of The Avengers.
The director of the first Thor movie, Kenneth Branagh, does not return to direct the sequel. Disney has hired newcomer Alan Taylor, for a lot less money. Sad.
