Go For Sisters, shot for under $1 million, stars Yolonda Ross and LisaGay Hamilton as two estranged childhood friends whose lives intersect again as recovering addict and parole officer. John Sayles has been directing movies since 1979, when his first movie, Return of the Secaucus Seven, opened to rave reviews and spectacular art house business.
John Sayles has also directed the Oscar nominated films Passion Fish and Matewan along with the cult classics Eight Men Out, Brother From Another Planet and Baby It’s You, all from the 1980s, save for Passion Fish, which was released in 1992.
The director has not had a hit since the 1996 movie Lonestar. And Go For Sisters looks to be another in the long string of bombs from John Sayles.
