Blue Is The Warmest Color

Blue Is The Warmest Color Release Date: October 25, 2013

At 15, Adele doesn’t question it: girls go out with boys. Her life is changed forever when she meets Emma, a young woman with blue hair, who will allow her to discover desire, to assert herself as a woman and as an adult. In front of others, Adele grows, seeks herself, loses herself, finds herself… It is one of the most heartwrenching love stories ever told on the big screen.

Blue Is The Warmest Color won the biggest award at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Why the film is rated NC-17: During one of the many sex scenes, this one, a 10 minute sex scene, cuningulus is shown with the mouth on the vulva but no explicit close up shots of the female sex organ are shown (unlike in porn and nor is the tongue shown licking the actual genitalia). Buttocks and rimming are shown realistically but not with explicit detail (no penetration by the tongue is seen). The two women engage in lengthy 69. Scissoring is also shown. One woman orally pleasures another from behind for a long time. Lots of saliva is shown. Women are shown sucking and kissing each other’s breasts. Orgasms are shown. To Tim Nasson, publisher of Wild About Movies, who has seen the movie, the sex appeared unsimulated however the camera angles leave that open to interpretation. Brief explicit shots of the female vulva are shown. The sex is artistically shot.

For those too embarrassed to go to the movie theater to see the movie, (or guys who want a reason to discard their porn for a night and use something artistic to amuse themselves), Blue Is The Warmest Color arrives on VOD (Video On Demand) one week after an Oscar qualifying run in NYC and Los Angeles.
