Sofia Coppola reunites with the film company with which she made the Academy Award-winning hit “Lost in Translation.” The movie “Somewhere” is an intimate story set in contemporary Los Angeles; Johnny Marco (Stephen Dorff) is a bad-boy actor stumbling through a life of excess at the very real Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood. With an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter (Elle Fanning), Johnny is forced to look at the questions we must all confront. Wild About Movies saw “Somewhere,” somewhere recently, and can say that Stephen Dorff, who made his big screen debut nearly 20 years ago opposite Morgan Freeman in The Power Of One, just may get an Oscar for his role in the film. If Scarlett Johansson can win a Tony Award, why can’t Stephen Dorff win an Oscar?
