Anna Nicole Smith and her last movie. Sort of.
The big screen (and VOD) documentary Addicted To Fame is the outrageous, couldn’t-make-it-up, rare glimpse into the making of the B-movie ‘Illegal Aliens’, starring the original Paris Hilton, queen of nothing, Anna Nicole Smith.
The director embarks on the project with the intention of making a ‘movie that mocks B-movies’, but finds himself mired in an uncontrollable drama brought on by eccentric personalities, tragedy and the madness that is the movie business.
The movie Illegal Aliens never received a proper theatrical release but the story was the second most reported of 2007, only after coverage of the Iraq War.
With Addicted To Fame, the director of Illegal Aliens, David Giancola provides a behind-the-scenes look at the set of Anna Nicole Smith’s last movie, dubbed by some critics to be ‘the worst movie ever made’, starring the most controversial and tragic figure of the 1990s.
Since the movie Addicted To Fame is receiving a VOD (Video On Demand) release day-and-date with its theatrical release, the movie is inelegible for any Oscar nominations, and also inelegible to be listed in the 2012 Movies section of Wild About Movies, (as a movie must be eligible, regardless of how good or bad it is to receive Oscar nominations, under the Wild About Movies criteria for movie listings).
However, we couldn’t help but mentioning this (and including it in our database, and since we make the rules, suck it if you don’t like it).
Addicted To Fame may just be the worst documentary released in theaters, even limitedly, ever.
