A new Taylor arrives on the big screen, Taylor Kitsch, in Disney’s big screen adaptation of the novel John Carter Of Mars.The movie John Carter tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
The film is a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). The movie was originally entitled “John Carter Of Mars,” which is the name of the the novel from which it is adapted.However, since Disney’s Mars Needs Moms was a total bust at the 2011 movie box office, the studio axed the word Mars from the movie’s title. From Academy Award-winning animated film director, Andrew Stanton, (Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3 and Monsters Inc. 2), comes John Carter, his fist feature film.
