The Quileute and the Volturi close in on expecting parents Edward and Bella, whose unborn child poses different threats to the wolf pack and vampire coven.
In Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), plus those they love, must deal with the chain of consequences brought on by a marriage, honeymoon, and the tumultuous birth of a child… which brings an unforeseen and shocking development for Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). With more of the romance, passion, intrigue and action that made Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse worldwide blockbusters, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling book series, begins the conclusion of the tale of vampire love, boundless friendship, acceptance, and finding your true self.
Kristen Stewart revealed that Breaking Dawn Part 1 was intially given an R-rating by the MPAA.
“It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a Twilight film. I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?! It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They re-cut it.”
Along with that graphic sex scene, there were quite a few other moments in Breaking Dawn: Part 1 that were filmed beyond the parameters of a PG-13 rating, specifically the moment where Edward chews through Bella’s stomach with his vampire teeth to retrieve their vampire baby.
Look for an R-rated Blu Ray edition of Breaking Dawn in the box set of the entire franchise in 2013.
