Little girls – and gays – grew up on Beverly Cleary, and especially loved the antics and escapades of sisters Beezus and Ramona. 20th Century Fox is the first to take the classic kids book series to the big screen. But instead of being set in the 1950s, as the books are, and which would make the movie much more fantastical, the movie “Ramona And Beezus”is set present day. UGH!
Big downside: Co-produced by Walden Media, who pump out horrible family movies, i.e., “The Toothy Fairy,” “Chronicles Of Narnia.”
