Conviction

Conviction Release Date: October 15, 2010

originally entitled “Betty Anne Waters” – is based on the true story of Betty Anne Waters (two time Best Actress Oscar winner Hilary Swank) a high school dropout who spent nearly two decades working as a single mother while putting herself through law school, tirelessly trying to beat the system and overturn her brother’s (Sam Rockwell) unjust murder conviction. At its heart, the movie “Conviction” is an exploration of the profound bond between a brother and sister; a love so deep, so unequivocal, so complete that it becomes a force that will not be denied or defeated.

Why the movie may suck? It’s directed by Tony Goldwyn, the former actor turned director. Ugh! Remember his big screen directorial efforts? “The Last Kiss” and “A Walk On The Moon”… Oy, vey!

Why the movie may not suck? It stars Oscar nominees Minnie Driver, Juliette Lewis, Melissa Leo and, well, two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank. And we predict an Oscar nomination for Hilary Swank, but not a win.
