“Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” – is also based on the “Street Fighter” series of video games. It follows the quest of Street Fighter character Chun-Li, who is portrayed by “Smallville” star Kristin Kreuk. The film costars Neal McDonough as M. Bison, Chris Klein as Charlie, Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, and Black Eyed Peas singer Taboo as Vega. Rick Yune was originally cast as Gen but was been replaced by Robin Shou, who portrayed Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat series.
Allegedly, and we use the word very loosely, Jean-Claude Van Damme, who played Guile in the 1994 film version of “Street Fighter,” stated that he was approached and offered a part in the 2009 “Street Fighter” movie but turned it down because he is “now being careful in choosing film roles.”
If you must see Jean Claude, check out the recent big screen film – (now on DVD) – a break out independent hit.
