Blonde Ambition

Blonde Ambition Release Date: January 18, 2008

Blonde Ambition was inspired by the Oscar-winning movie Working Girl, (not the Madonna tour of the same name), and stars the incompetent actress Jessica Simpson in the leading role.

In the movie Jessica Simpson plays the part of a small town girl who moves to New York City and rises up into a great career as a business woman. The film also stars Luke Wilson, Paul Vogt (currently in Hairspray on Broadway), and in a supporting role Andy Dick who plays the role of an “evil” secretary to queeny delight. “Blonde Ambition” began filming on November 28, 2006 in Shreveport, Louisiana, and was aiming for a Summer 2007 release but Sony Pictures announced in August that the film is so bad that it is going straight to DVD.

The film, ultimately dumped by Sony, was picked up by First Look Pictures, and given a very limited, embarassing release at 5 theaters in Texas on December 21, 2007. “Blonde Ambition” opened exclusively at a local second run theater chain – all tickets $1 for matinees, and $2 for evening shows. Jessica Simpson, whose father was quoted recently as saying, “My daughter can be the next Julia Roberts,” surely must be eating his words…
