“‘Monster House’ is in a universe that’s very close to movies like ‘The Goonies’ and ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes,'” says director Gil Kenan of his first feature, which advances the motion-capture animation technique pioneered in “The Polar Express,” (a $200 million box office smash), to bring to life a mysterious house that terrorizes the boy across the street.
Summing up, “Monster House” is an exciting and hilarious thrill-ride tale about three kids (Mitchel Musso, Sam Lerner and Spencer Locke) who must do battle with a mysterious home that is determined to eat every trick or treater in sight on Halloween.
