"Takers" "Takers Trailer" - First Look "Takers" - In Movie Theaters February 19, 2010
"Takers" - The movie "Takers," directed by John Luessenhop, revolves around a notorious group of criminals (Idris Elba, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Michael Ealy) who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.
So, we have Oscar nominee, (Matt Dillion), four (somewhat) goodlooking negroes, most who have never been in a movie before, nor who have any business in a big screen movie (the criminals TI and Chris Brown and "Obsessed" star Idris Elba and Michael Ealy), a has been, Hayden Christensen, and aging (very poorly) Paul Walker. Why Oscar nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste ("Secrets & Lies" and TV's "Without A Trace") is in the movie, we can only wonder. Unless it was for the money.
The studio releasing "Takers" is hoping America thinks it is the sequel to "Taken," the February 2009 movie that cleaned up at the movie box office - although, it is hardly anything like "Taken."
