"The Kung Fu Kid" - In Movie Theaters June 11, 2010

"The Kung Fu Kid" - "The Kung Fu Kid," orginally entitled "The Karate Kid 2010" by its distributor, Sony Pictures, is a remake, of sorts, of the 1984 movie "The Karate Kid," starring Ralph Macchio. The hero, this time a black kid, (Jaden Smith, son of Will and Jada, moves to China with his mother (Oscar nominee Taraji. P. Henson), who has landed herself an important job. He is a misfit, but meets a mentor played by Jackie Chan.

The official website for the film as of today lists the title as "The Karate Kid." However, press releases to Wild About Movies, from Sony Pictures, indicate the title of the film as "The Kung Fu Kid." Do stay tuned.
