"March 27-29, 2009 Movie Box Office"
"Monsters vs Aliens" #1
at www.wildaboutmovies.com

MVA

Its first weekend in movie theaters "Monsters vs Aliens" grabbed $58 million - for the #1 spot at the movie box office.

It is 2009. Yet, there are still less than 2000 theater auditoriums in North America equipped to feature movies in 3D.

Paramount Pictures released "Monsters vs Aliens 3D" this weekend, and only half the theaters showing the movie are screening it in all of its 3D glory - because half of the theaters haven't upgraded - at a cost of $25,000 per auditorium - to 3D projectors.

Nontheless, at least half of you - and your kids - will be able to catch "Monsters vs Aliens" the way it was intended; in 3D.

Less than 5% of you will be able to secure a showing of "Monsters vs Aliens" in both 3D and on an IMAX screen. If you ask us, we say 'go for it.' Spend the extra few bucks, and grab the 3D IMAX experience. Your kids, at the very least, will easily proclaim that it is the best moviegoing experience they've ever had.

New in limited release, nearly two handfuls of movies, including; "C Me Dance," "Shall We Kiss," "American Swing," "The Education of Charlie Banks," and Sarah Jessica Parker "Spinning Into Butter."

Also, "The Cross," and "Guest of Cindy Sherman."

The John Cena thriller "12 Rounds," and the horror film based on a true story, "The Haunting In Connecticut." were the only other new movies in wide release.

"The Haunting In Connecticut" stole the #2 spot at the movie box office, with $23 million.

And "12 Rounds" bombed, as expected, with $5 million.
