"Race To Witch Mountain" #1

Race To Witch Mountain Poster

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson takes the #1 spot at the movie box office for the second time in a Disney row - following his Disney debut in 2007 with "The Game Plan."

This weekend, "The Rock" or - as we now know him as - Dwayne Johnson - took the #1 spot at the movie box office in Walt Disney's reimagination of their "Witch Mountain" movie franchise - "Race To Witch Mountain." The film grabbed $25 million its first three days in theaters. Not a movie box office spectacular by any means but good enough to have earned $7 million more than the #2 movie of the weekend, "Watchmen."

Last week's #1 movie, "Watchmen," dropped almost 80% - from its opening day gross - its second Friday in movie theaters, but wound up with the #2 spot at the weekend movie box office.

The #3 movie of the weekend, "Last House On The Left," was the only movie in the weekend Top 10 to see its box office drop Saturday - from its Friday take.

The Fox Searchlight comedy "Miss March" bombed, with just over $2 million, its first weekend in movie theaters, while "Taken" and "Madea," both in movie theaters for weeks, continue to amass huge fortunes at the movie box office, each remaining in the Top 5.
