"G FORCE" #1
at www.wildaboutmovies.com

G-forces were too strong for the competition at the movie box office as Disney's "G-Force" won the crowded race at the domestic box office, grossing $32.2 million and surpassing holdover "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
"Half-Blood Prince," from Warner Bros., grossed an estimated $30 million from 4,325 theaters in its second weekend for a domestic total, thus far, of $221.8 million. Sony's Katherine Heigl / Gerard Butler romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth" opened to a strong $27 million from 2,882 theaters. Warner Bros.' horror entry "Orphan" lagged behind the other films as it debuted in 2,750 theaters, grossing $12.8 million. Also new at a theater near you, in limited release, "The Answer Man" - starring Jeff Daniels - which debuted this past April at the Phoenix Film Festival. "The English Surgeon," not a sequel to the Oscar winning "The English Patient," rather a documentary. A Kevin Spacey film "Shrink." "How To Be A Serial Killer" and "Afghan Star" also make their debuts at various art house theaters this week.
