"Friday The 13th" #1

Friday the 13th Poster

"Friday The 13th" - the 12th edition of the film franchise that began in 1980 - emerged as the victor at the movie box office this weekend, the final weekend before the "2009 Oscars."

Its first three days in movie theaters "Friday The 13th" scared up $42.5 million, headed for a $50 million+ long weekend. (Monday is President's Day!)

Isla Fischer, the lover of "Borat," and "Bruno," aka Sacha Baron Coen, stars in the Disney chick flick "Confessions Of A Shopaholic" - which, as was "He's Just Not That Into You" - is based on a NY Times Best Selling novel. However, more people were "Not Into You" than making "Confessions."

Its first weekend in movie theaters "Confessions Of A Shopaholic" - which garnered mostly negative reviews - tanked, with $15 million, coming in at #4.

"He's Just Not That Into You" took the #2 spot, with $20 million, and a ten day gross of $55 million.

"Taken" took #3 at the movie box office, its 15 day 'take' at $78 million.

Also new in movie theaters this weekend, the thriller "The International," featuring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. Don't confuse this weekend's Clive Owen thriller - opposite an A-list starlett - with the one he's in next month; "Duplicity" - opposite Oscar winner Julia Roberts.

"The International," as expected, bombed, grabbing only $10 million its first weekend in movie theaters.
