Check out the Complete list of 2018 Oscar Nominees below. 2018 Oscar Winners will be announced on March 4, 2018. The 2018 Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. We also have the best 2018 Oscar Ballot.
“The Shape of Water,” a low-budget fantasy about a mute janitor who falls in love with an imprisoned sea creature, became 2017’s most decorated film, receiving 13 nominations, one fewer than the record for the most in Academy Awards history (which La La Land tied with Titanic and All About Eve last year).
Meryl Streep, the most Oscar nominated actor in history, received her 21st acting Oscar nomination for the movie The Post. She has won 3 acting Oscars to date.
Greta Gerwig, who wrote and directed the coming-of-age story “Lady Bird,” becomes the fifth woman ever to be nominated for a best director Oscar.
Oscar winner Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music, Beginners) is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for “All the Money in the World,” a movie he joined for reshoots, after it was already shot — the result of director Ridley Scott deciding to replace Kevin Spacey after the actor was accused of sexual assault.
The biggest shocks of this year’s Oscars? The Disaster Artist was virtually snubbed by Oscar voters, earning only one 2018 Oscar nomination, for Best Adapted Screenplay. It was lauded by movie critics, nationwide. James Franco won the Best Actor (Comedy) Golden Globe Award for his role in the film and even earned a Best Director Golden Globe nomination. And Martin McDonagh was snubbed for Best Director for Three Billboards. He won the Best Director Golden Globe for the film (his spot presumably went to Jordan Peele who directed the overrated satire, Get Out).
Want some 2018 Oscars trivia? Best Actor nominee front runner, Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour), is divorced from Best Supporting Actress nominee Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread).
