Jersey Boys: The Movie is based Broadway musical of the same name about Franki Valli and The Four Seasons.
The movie Jersey Boys tells the story of the rise, the tough times and personal clashes, and the ultimate triumph of a group of friends whose music became symbolic of a generation. The movie also showcases many of the problems the boys faced – including gambling debts, threats from the Mafia and family conflict.
John Lloyd Young plays Franki Valli. Vincent Piazza, of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire fame, plays Tommy DeVito.
The musical Jersey Boys opened on Broadway in 2005 and has since had a North American National Tour and productions in London’s West End, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, Melbourne and other Australian cities, Singapore and elsewhere.
Jersey Boys won four 2006 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and the 2007 Grammy for Best Musical Show Album.
Two-time Best Director Oscar winner (Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven) Clint Eastwood directs Jersey Boys.
