Monsters University

Monsters University Release Date: June 21, 2013

Monsters University is a look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at the University of Fear — when they weren’t necessarily the best of friends.

Thank god for animation. Actors with great voices – Billy Crystal and John Goodman, among others – can go back in time for a prequel to a movie that was a hit more than a dozen years ago.

Monsters University follows (not-so) monstrous James P. Sullivan (voice of John Goodman) and Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) during their contentious college days, before they were inseparable pals.

The first Monsters movie grabbed $255+ million at the U.S. box office over a dozen years ago.

Adjusted for inflation and 3D ticket prices, that would mean Monsters University needs to take in $425 million, or more, which is doubtful, to equal what the first Monsters movie brought in at the domestic box office.
